Runway Relief – Here Comes the Hot Stepper!

New York Fashion week is only a few weeks away, and this season I have teamed up with Nine West to shoot the ‘Runway Relief’ campaign to raise awareness for the CFDA’s charity: ‘Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.’ You might remember I worked on a similar campaign last year with the lovely Veronica Webb and QVC. Well this time around, we have a whole host of superstar models stepping up to take part in the project.
The idea is to raise awareness and money for FTBC by sponsoring models during fashion week as they run from one show to another, back stage, on stage, at parties and at castings. How ? – Well all the models will be wearing fabulous boots designed by Nine West with pedometers installed in the front. The pedometers will count every step the girls take, and we can sponsor either every step they take or just make a donation backing our favorite girl at www.modelinia.com/ninewestrunwayrelief.
So just to get a sense of the whole project, I met up with 3 of the models – Coco Rocha, Jessica White and Lisalla Montenegro – to try on the boots, other Nine West swag and capture a few pre-press shots. My friends at Sony are also giving each model a Sony Bloggie to video themselves on the road or runway, keeping us up to date with every step.
The big launch is on August 31st here in NYC, where we will shoot the grand campaign shots with around 40 models from IMG, Marilyn, Next and Elite. Yes, that’s right, a virtual model army marching to raise money. As I said, the public is invited to attend the shoot in the Meatpacking District in NYC, and the first 10 people who attend will win a pair of the limited edition boots, and the first 25 people after that will win a signed copy of my new book, ‘Nigel Barker’s Beauty Equation’ (a day before it goes on general release!!). how r u i wanted to know if you have any boots left sizr 7 in a half or 8 i been trying so hard no luck yet please let me know this is for a great cause thanks
