The life and times of Nigel Barker

Think Dudley Moore, NOT Knights of the Round Table, as you might with my being English and all that! So fresh off the plane after wrapping up Cycle 15 of ANTM at our secret location, I found myself in front of another set of very large cameras, but this time, it was to play myself as a cameo. That’s right! My first cameo in an actual movie… and with several lines no less! I’m still terribly excited, as you can tell. And no wonder, I “acted” alongside Russell Brand, Jennifer Garner, Nick Nolte and Geraldine James. Not only was I asked to perform a masterly rendition of myself, but I also took simultaneous photos of the cast for a photo-shoot scene that takes place within the remake. Sounds like I’d be right at home, and I was, except that while taking photos, I also had to remember to chime in with my lines and follow my blocking. Even more exciting, the actual shots taken during the scene will be used later in the flick!

It was a sweltering 95 degrees in the shade that day, and the whole ensemble was suited and booted, some even riding horses, so you can just imagine. I kept it together by singing “Best That You Can Be” in my head by Christopher Cross…. I’m not allowed to give anything away or show any of the stars in my behind-the scenes snaps, but look out for the movie, which will be on general release in 2011 through Warner Brothers.
