I’m sure you’ve been listening to the reports over the past day and half.  It’s estimated that as many as 50,000 people have died as a result of the earthquake in Haiti.  The next hours are crucial to the survival of those who are trapped in the rubble or those who have been injured by the quake.  Without access to food, water and electricity, doctors and aid workers are unable to operate and assist to the fullest extent.

Now is the time to save a life.  Just a few dollars can purchase water or food for a family suffering.  A little goes a long way.

Our hearts go out to those in Haiti who have suffered loss. Please donate if you can. Send a $10 donation via The Red Cross by texting Haiti to 90999. This will automatically be billed to your mobile account. You can also make a donation by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) or visit their website: www.redcross.org

Families of Americans living in Haiti who are trying to find the status of their loved ones are encouraged to contact the State Department at 1-888-407-4747.  At this time, patience is much appreciated as this line is experiencing a high volume of calls.
