Sundance

On Sunday my team and I flew to Park City, Utah where our film “A Sealed Fate?” was screened in conjunction with a special event for the Humane Society of the United States. The film was screened prior to a sit down dinner for 75 at the Bon Appetit Supper Club venue right on Main Street. It was so much fun to experience the Sundance film festival even though my film was not officially a part of Sundance! I look forward to the day that one our projects does make it in that’s for sure…… In any case the celebrities that Sundance attracts flocked to our awareness raising event and hung out until the wee hours of the night. In particular, Musicians Slash from Guns ‘N’ Roses, Billy Gibbons and Chris Mann, actors Alan Cummings, Levin Rambin, Paris Hilton, and Iron chef Cat Cora, who cooked us a delicious Vegan dinner!!! My photos from our trips to the ice floes of Canada were also on display. Dr John Grandy, Pat Ragan and myself gave speeches about the Harp seals and the barbaric hunt that sadly continues in Canada every year. We called on everyone to join the HSUS’ boycott of Canadian Seafood which over 5000 major restaurants and stores have already done. If we can’t appeal to their sense of moral judgement that killing young seals ( as young as 12 days old) with a club often skinning them alive ( I personally witnessed that happening and have the footage to prove it) then we have no option but use economic persuasion. Next time you eat seafood or buy it to have at home ask where it came from and help end this hunt once and for all.

I’m so surprised that something like this would be happening in Canada?!?! Not that I think seals should be killed in the first place, but why would someone choose to do so with a club and skin them alive?!
Either way, I’m glad you’re helping to stop this. Way to go, man

Hi Nigel,
, is such an inspiration.
I stumbled across your blog tonight and started reading. I think it is so wonderful that you have coupled your passion for photography with your passion for humanitarian causes. Using your influence is such a socially responsible fashion, no pun intended
What stood out to me the most was your geniunity in supporting these causes, it is prevelent in your writing that is something you care about deeply.
BTW, congratulations to you and your wife on the recent birth of your second child.
