The life and times of Nigel Barker

Designer Blondes and The Whitney

Posted on October 28, 2008 - Filed Under Nigel Barker Today, Personal Picts

Last week was the Whitney’s annual Gala and my wife and I were invited as guests of Board Members of the Whitney – Pamella and Dan DeVos. Pamella DeVos (AKA Pamella Roland) is a close friend and with whom I went to Grand Rapids to open an Avedon Exhibit at the GRAM museum where she is also a Board Member. The evening was a blast and probably close to one of the last nights out Crissy and I will have together for a while. We are expecting our first daughter December 1st…………. The evening was punctuated by fashionistas,

New York high society, the ever fabulous art crowd and an A-list jumble of Rockers, Thespians and Rollers. Of course we showed our age getting down to Sting and the dinner party. The whole event was sponsored by Donatella Versace, who some of you might remember provided to wardrobe for our final fashion show for ANTM Season 10 in Roma!

    Very cool….
You and Crissy look great…. To be perfectly honest Crissy is absolutely stunning! It’s hard to believe your baby is almost here…. I’ve been thrilled for you guys ever since you announced the pregnancy. Hope you enjoy your time as a Barker treesome and enjoy your foursome to come even more.

    Dear Nigel Barker:

First of all, I hope you had a good day!

My name is Tianyi Chen, a Fashion Management student from London College of Fashion. I am currently on my second year and doing a project about generating awareness and funds for a Photography Exhibition. As we get the chance to pick our favourite photographer, I chose you as I have always been a big fan of you, and believe that your photos will bring in so much inspiration and desire to the British society.

If by any chance you are interested in this project, I would be very appreciated of you can help to answer the questions below ^^ Thank you a lot.

-What do you consider your style is?

-Who do you think your target visitors would be?

-Where do you want to be advertised?

-What kind of feedback do you expect to hear from the visitors?

-Would you like your exhibition to be held more often or prefer to be one-off?

-As the boss, how much budget you can accept?

Sorry for contacting you so randomly, but I do believe this project will be very interesting and if you don’t mind, I am more than happy to keep you updated about what I am doing and maybe in the future, it might be quite useful to you as well (I wish ^^). Thanks again for your time, and I am really hoping to hear back from you soon!

    Your Sincerely
    Tianyi Chen
