My Birthday Party

Posted on April 24, 2008 - Filed Under Nigel Barker Today

I celebrated my 36th birthday last night at D6 in Greenwich Village, my favorite watering hole with lots of friends and family. Among the guests were Dr John Grundy and Pat Ragan from the HSUS, Pat Clemency and Gabby Sappington from The Make A Wish Foundation, Unik and Mike Pradieu from The Edeyo Foundation, Nancy Lublin from The Do Something Organization, Richie Rich from Heatherette, Mara Hoffman, Pamella Roland, Fiona Chiotellis from Ted Baker, The CW family, The David’s Bridal team, Seventeen Magazine, Deborah Dragon from Rollingstone Magazine, David Schonauer from American Photo Magazine, MTV, Joanna Scholl from HBO and last but by no means least all my personal friends and fashion kooks that I work with on a daily basis – Marcus, Ali, Theo, Rodney, Tibolla, Jason, Chris, The Boob Group, The Barrow Street Moms and my lovely wife Crissy!
Of course we had cup cakes and balloons which is proof I have a 2 year old………..

As many of you know many in Haiti have been reduced to eating patties made of mud, oil and sugar to curb hunger pains brought on by surging food prices. I have a trip planned to Haiti with the Charity Edeyo where we plan to bring food and document in the form of photos and film the travesty that is unfolding 45 minutes flight off the US shores. Friends of mine donated over $1000.00 the night of my birthday for the people of Haiti. If you too would like to do something to help please go to WWW.EDEYO.ORG and make a donation

I think it’s great that your friends made a donation on your birthday, it’s a very heart warming gift. I hope people read about what is happening in Haiti and react the same way you have.

    Have a lovey day.

I agree I think it is really cool how you thought outside yourself even on your birthday. Happy belated birthday. Good luck on your trip! I can’t wait to see the photos, will they be displayed for public?

    Happy Belated Birthday…

I am happy that you are concerned about and are active in Humanitarian efforts needed throughout the world. I hope to one day be able to help make a change in the terrible sufferings that are happening.

I have been a fan of yours for quite some time…and my daughter is also a big fan. I met you this weekend while you and your beautiful wife were at the KY Derby. I was working there as a server on Friday and Saturday and saw you both days, but only had the opportunity to speak with you on Friday. We had several photos taken together with some of my friends. My daughter will go crazy when she sees them!!!

First, Happy Belated Birthday! It sure looks like it was a wonderful one.

Secondly, it is so wonderful to hear that more people are taking action for the Haitian people. I have been travelling to Haiti for several years now, and am making another trip this summer; so, I have witnessed firsthand the conditions there. So above else, I just want to thank you for your compassion and effort to bring Haiti’s need into the light. If this is your first trip, I hope you get the chance to really get to know the wonderful people there and experience the true Haitian spirit and love for life.

    Bon courage!

Grandy has an A, not a U, but congratulations on your birthday anyhow! you are so kind to share your day and party with your baby and the people of Haiti. another reason to give you the benefit of the doubt as a celebrity- your karma is always surprisingly in the just right place for someone who is famous for time spent judging the way girls look in photos. your beauty shines.

    Hello Nigel,
Happy Birthday!!! You radiate HUMAN. I’m not an ANTM fan but I think you are the only talented and real person on the show. I hope you decide to ditch the vaudeville soon.

Hello Nigel! Belated Happy Birthday! I know I’m 2 months late for the greeting. I have always admired your works and hoping that you’ll continue to keep us inspired. I have just started photography and taking practices to enhance this new venture that I’m entering right now. You amaze me! Good luck with your projects Nigel and hope things are doing well there.
