Vegas

During the shooting of ANTM season 9 we were asked to shoot an
advertorial for GQ. The client was the Mirage casino in Las Vegas and
the idea was to shoot, Academy Is, Fall Out Boy, Paul Wall and Cobra
Starship in various Casino locations. The tricky part was we had only
4 hours to shoot 4 different bands in different spots, all of which
needed styling, and grooming etc…. needless to say we had some fun
and just a small headache…..

Comment? My first thoughts are an astonished list of quesitons! I won’t lis them all. Four bands, in four locations, in four hours is REALLY ambitious… for those who don’t know… um, it would seem imposible? Was that four consecutive hours, or one hour with each band (still very impressive) with prep time between? Clearly, prep is critical, but even with all the prep in the world… did you and crew literally run between locations? Did you prep everyone/shot simultaneously? I noticed you (Nigel) even made a wardrobe change… how did you manage that?! I know you make the best of circumstances, but how do you feel about such a restrictive time table? Creatively it’s very limiting, isn’t it? So many questions… and I know you can’t answer. And now, for my comment… Way to go, dude(s)!

Hola Nigel,
It’s Lynette from Boston, MA, USA. And I just need to say that your pics are AWESOME! Also, ANTM is QUITE popular here in my home especially amongst my friends. Keep up the inspirational work!
Gracias muchisimo,
Lynette
Nigel, my daughter’s and I have watched every cycle of ANTM…we love the photography! Especially yours!
My eldest daughter has set her sights on treading the waters of artistic photography…any suggestions on what would be the best type of camera for her to start with?
And should she start shooting live models first or doing still life first? We have looked through a few library books but found nothing that suggests a path that helps a “budding” 15 year old artist.
Haha awh, I love you in your little floral swim trunks.
