Becoming a citizen

This was certainly an interesting experience….. I was dreading the
long lines and inevitable queuing but it definitely pays sometimes to
be on a reality tv show! I was recognized on arrival by the security
at the entrance and it wasn’t long before the big wigs who issue
passports and the like got word. I was invited to have my photo taken
with pretty much the entire department of Naturalization. They also
wanted to know if in exchange for being rushed through the procedure
and basically becoming a citizen in a day, they could photograph and
film me pledging allegiance to the flag…… I of course signed up
immediately. “Long live America and TV”

Congratulations!!
I hope that you had more than just a celebrity experience while saying the Pledge. My brothers and I helped my grandmother study for a year to pass the test and become an American Citizen, and seeing this photo reminds me of the day we were there when she was finally able to swear in. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a room full of people bursting with so much pride, between everyone else that was swearing in, my family, and my grandmother, with her cute Italian accent.
Once again, congrats!
You’re like a head taller than everyone else in the room, hah!
Congrats! I did this 4 years ago…. and even my Latvian accent gives away my foreign decent I can call myself american…. my kids already born here 6 and 8 gave the final push to go through with naturalization… and now I’m intending to make my American dream happen…. I’m an aspiring photographer but have a long way to go yet but your images definetely inspire me and so does The SHOT… congrats again on your citizenship
